Training Philosophy

There are three things that drive my programs. They are all connected and for true success you must use them together.

  • Communication is the first. We are two different species living together and problems often occur when we try to communicate. People often misread their dog’s behavior while dogs can’t understand humans attempts to modify their behavior. This can lead to an unhealthy relationship between owner and pet. I teach how to better read dog behavior and a way of communicating what you like and dislike.
  • Motivation is the second. Each dog has different things that they find motivating. People tend to use what they think their dogs should like, but sometimes they are wrong (some dogs don’t like steak!) I show how to identify and use a variety  of motivators, as well as how to build motivation in low-level dogs.
  • Leadership is the third. Responsibilities as an owner include making sure that the dog is exercised, safe and is getting consistent feedback. Relating to dogs as dogs and not as people will make a relationship healthier and stronger. I teach how to incorporate leadership into everyday life, making the process simpler.
