ASCA® Sanctioned Agility Trials Sunday, May 30 & Monday May 31, 2010
Flying E Ranch and Windsong Ranch, Villa Creek Rd., Cayucos, California
This trial will be held outside on grass/dirt – the weather should be nice – no shade is available.
Limited to 350 sanctioned runs each day. Sunday’s classes: 3 Rounds of Regular, 2 Round of Gamblers; Monday’s classes: 4 Rounds of Jumpers Sanctioned classes will be offered in the Standard, Veterans and Junior Handler divisions. Judge: Darryl Warren, Wind Gap, PA
Pre-entries will open on April 1st, 2010 and will close when the limit has been reached, postmarked no later than May 15th, 2010. If this trial does not fill, day of show entries will be taken on Sunday 8:00 – 8:30 a.m. Call for availability of day of show entries. MISCELLANEOUS RULES AND THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW
This trial will be held under the current rules and regulations of ASCA®. Exhibitors, through submission of entry, acknowledge that they are knowledgeable of the rules and regulations of ASCA® (Australian Shepherd Club of America) and agree to abide by all rules in effect at the time of this trial. A copy of ASCA®’s Agility Rulebook may be downloaded free from the ASCA® web site: www.asca.org. As of January 1, 2003, ASCA® requires registration of all non-ASCA® registered dogs in order to record and track these dogs for ASCA® titles. Entries will be accepted on the basis of those received on each day. Any entry received or postmarked prior to April 1st, will be considered as received on April 13th.,On any given day that the trial would fill with the entries received that day, the entries that were received on that date will be drawn at random. Confirmations, class run order and check-in information will be emailed to all entered. If you urgently need to reach Sue during the days before the trial, leave a message on her cell phone (626-318-2494). COAST will offer ribbons for 1st through 4th place in each class for each jump height division (dogs jumping 24” optionally will be combined with the 20+ class). Green ribbons will be offered to every dog obtaining a qualifying score. HIT awards will be offered in the Novice, Open and Elite levels in the Standard Division and to the HIT Veterans and Jr. Handler. The level of the regular classes the dog is entered in will determine the level of the award the dog is eligible for. Novice Q’s = 5 points, Open Q’s = 6 points, Elite Q’s = 7 points. Faulted Q’s will have half the point value listed above. No entry shall be accepted from a dog or handler that has been disqualified from the ASCA Agility or ALL ASCA programs. All entrants must be must be in good standing with ASCA. All dogs must be on leash when not competing in the ring. IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO RUN LOOSE/OFF LEASH IN THE BULL FIELD AND THE NEARBY HILLS. Please clean up after yourself and your dog. No entry will be refunded if the trial cannot open or be completed by reason of riot, civil disobedience, fire and act of God, public emergency, and act of a public enemy, or any other cause beyond the control of the organizing committee. There will be no refunds for entries withdrawn after the closing date, or in the event a dog and/or handler are dismissed from competition, regardless of the reason for such dismissal. Refunds will be issued for bitches that come in season, if notification in writing is received before May 24th. Checks not honored by the bank do not constitute a valid entry. There will be a $25.00 service charge for returned checks.
Sunday evening BBQ: Join us for tri-tip, chicken, fixins and homemade desserts after the trial. If you would like to attend, please note it on your entry form.
Equipment list: Slat-less contact obstacles, non-winged jumps, tunnels and weave poles. Overnight parking (dry camping) is available. DIRECTIONS to the Ranch
From the south: take Highway 101 north, transition to Highway 1-Morro Bay at San Luis Obispo. You will travel San Luis Obispo, Morro Bay and Cayucos. After passing through the town of Cayucos you will make a right on Villa Creek Road. From the north: take Highway 101 south to Highway 46 – west (Hearst Castle, Cambria exit). Stay on Highway 46 for 22 miles to Highway 1. Turn left, south. Travel about 10 miles and make a left on Villa Creek Road.
Once you are on Villa Creek Road, travel about 1⁄2 mile and look to your left for the entrance gate (it should have the Stars & Stripes Flag flying near it) – travel through the gate, along the dirt road and park in the cattle field.
Please keep your dogs on leash while not competing; LOOK OUT FOR CATTLE AND CLOSE ALL GATES!!!
